Road Courtesy is Catching in Buderim

A little Courtesy goes a long way here in Buderim, with 19,000 car movements a day on Burnett Street alone, courtesy in Buderim is a better way of life!

Using courtesy around Buderim means the traffic flows better, the pedestrians are safer and life is a lot less stressful!

To encourage the message of Courtesy in Buderim, the local Police Beat, Buderim Safe and the Sunshine Coast Regional Council are conducting a traffic awareness campaign, focusing on those who live and pass through our beautiful Buderim.

The group is asking you to be courteous when you are on Buderim, like some examples?

As a motorist you can try:

- Letting traffic into the flow when they are trying pullout of a car park.

- Being patient when a newbie is trying to reverse par into one of the Burnett street parking spaces which are designed so you can drive in nose first.

- Not turning right over the double lines in Burnett Street. Simply drive up to the roundabouts and use them to turn around. It does not take very long!

- Be patient with older drivers, they have the right to be here too.

- Don't race through the crossings, especially the two without lights on Lindsay Road and Ballinger Road.

- Say "Thanks" to motorists who let you into the stream.

As a pedestrian you can try:

-Not darting blindly onto the zebra crossing.

- Hold the door for an older person

- Be aware and courteous to elderly users of mobility scooters

- If you ride a scooter, show courtesy and patience for others on the footpath.

Avoid "Road Rage" and be happy when you are moving around Buderim, patience and tolerance are great aids to a stress free and safer experience on the road.

Being courteous is catching, and if you are doing it for others, they will catch the bug and soon we will see that courtesy is the norm on Buderim, not the exception!
